Suburb –

Kölner Verkehrs-Betriebe (KVB) customers should be prepared for the fact that they will not be able to use all light rail vehicles and some of the buses on Mondays and Tuesdays. Verdi’s union has once again called a warning strike. Therefore, the KVB will be on strike for the two days of operation. This means that from 3am on Monday to 3am on Wednesday, there will be no KVB trams and only buses operated by subcontractors can be used.

Their trips are shown to passengers in the electronic timetable information. Since the warning strike will also take place in Bonn on Mondays and Tuesdays, all trips on tram lines 16 and 18, which are operated jointly with the Bonn Public Utility, will also be canceled.

Cologne: KVB customers can evade

KVB customer service centers and sales offices remain closed. The KVB notes that Deutsche Bahn, Mittelrheinbahn and other rail transport companies are not affected by the union strike. Therefore, KVB customers can also switch to S-Bahn, regional trains (RB) and regional express trains (RE). Within the validity areas in the Verkehrsverbund Rhein-Sieg (VRS), the tickets of KVB customers are also valid on these means of transport. The KVB points out that the mobility guarantee does not apply in the event of a strike.

Verdi had already called for a KVB warning strike on September 29 and October 8. The background for this is the demand for a uniform framework collective agreement at the national level for local public transport employees. (Red)
