Chelsea FC rejects FC Bayern Munich offer for Callum Hudson-Odoi

FC Bayern are working on the loan of Chelsea winger Callum Hudson-Odoi. The Blues confirmed this on Friday when asked SPOX and Goal. A first offer from Munich was rejected. The proposal of the German record champions was to agree on a purchase option of more than 77 million euros for the summer of 2021.

The current England U21 international (whose contract runs until 2024) is not satisfied with his current situation at Chelsea. After the new top-class signings for the offense (Kai Havertz, Timo Werner, Hakim Ziyech), Hudson-Odoi’s chances of taking on regular missions have further diminished.

In Saturday’s 4-0 win against Crystal Palace, Hudson-Odoi had their only Premier League starting XI since the restart.

“Callum showed his skills and especially his speed, especially in the second half. It is absolutely part of our plans,” Chelsea manager Frank Lampard said afterward. “Their wishes are taken into account, but everything has to always be fine for the club.” The transfer window is open until Monday (October 5).

Bayern coach Hansi Flick told a press conference on Saturday: “He is one of the greatest talents in this position. He can play ten and out. That is why it is legitimate for us to deal with him.”
