Don’t have time now?

After the seemingly premature release of the most anticipated game of the year, Cyberpunk 2077, with fans greatly disappointed by the bugs, CD Projekt Red is now facing a costly class action lawsuit.

The catastrophic start of Cyberpunk 2077 has cost the Polish studio CD Projekt Red quite a reputation so far. The expectations raised by the game creators themselves in recent years have been disappointed in the face of bugs and glitches in the game, especially on loading consoles. Law firms are currently being formed in Poland and the United States to initiate class action lawsuits for investors.

Cyberpunk 2077 disaster could be costly

It could be very expensive for CD Projekt Red. It is no longer clear how many of the 15 million copies of Cyberpunk 2077 sold so far can finally flow into the earnings statistics in light of the numerous players who are willing to return them. In addition to earnings that were likely lower than expected, Warsaw game developers also recently had to accept a share price drop of more than 40 percent.

Investors don’t seem to like this at all. Given the positive outlook of the past few years, some are now misled and encouraged by lawyers to file class action lawsuits. On Monday, CD-Projekt-Red’s share price lost another six percent. Compared to the beginning of the year, the minus sign is currently at a comparatively low total of almost eleven percent.

However, some investors such as Polish shareholder and lawyer Mikołaj Orzechowski are misled by the promises of the creators of Cyberpunk 2077, as the New York Times reports. On Reddit, users have collected some statements from CD-Projekt-Red-Managers to investors that could be seen as misleading or false, as reported by pcgameshardware.de.

Misleading investigation class action lawsuit

CD Projekt Red is said to have claimed in November that performance on PS4 and Xbox One was better than it is now. According to Orzechowski, he is currently examining the requirements for filing a class action lawsuit in relation to a criminal deception complaint. According to the New York Times, the New York law firm Wolf Haldenstein Adler Freeman & Herz LLP is also in review mode for a possible class action lawsuit.
