On Monday afternoon on the A1, at the end of a traffic jam between Oyten and Bremer Kreuz, a car crashed into a tanker. The two occupants of the vehicle were seriously injured.

According to police, the 47-year-old driver had apparently missed the end of the traffic jam and collided with a tanker in the right lane while swerving. The 47-year-old man and his 38-year-old passenger were trapped in the collision. Firefighters released the men with heavy equipment. A rescue helicopter and an ambulance took them to various clinics.

A1 closed until night

Due to salvage work, the Posthausen highway to the south was closed until evening. As a result, there were delays in traffic. The route was reopened around 9 p.m., but the speed limit was initially limited to 60 kilometers per hour due to suspected damage to the asphalt. The Langwedel motorway police estimate the amount of the damage at around 35,000 euros.
