According to authorities, three people died in wildfires in California. They were killed in the “Zogg Fire” southwest of the city of Redding, the “Los Angeles Times” quoted the responsible sheriff Eric Magrini as saying. Tens of thousands of people had to flee their homes, according to the report.

Meanwhile, the fires also cause severe damage to the Napa Valley wine country. The “Glass Fire” destroyed the Château Boswell winery and parts of the Castello di Amorosa winery.

According to the fire department, about 4,500 acres of land in the Napa Valley had been destroyed by the “Glass Fire” on Monday. Fire is spreading at a “dangerous” rate and is nowhere under control. More than a thousand firefighters were deployed to the Napa Valley.

In the “Zogg Fire” and “Glass Fire” area, authorities ordered a total of more than 35,000 residents to leave their apartments and houses and go to safety.

Dozens of fires have raged on the west coast of the United States since mid-August. In California alone, about 19,000 first responders are fighting the massive fires. According to authorities, at least 26 people were killed and more than 7,776 buildings have been destroyed so far.

The most severe fires in recent California history affected more than 15,190 square kilometers of land.

Scientists jointly blame the climate crisis for wildfires and brush fires in the western United States, which have been escalating for years. According to her, drought in vegetation is increasing significantly due to global warming, which in turn favors the rapid spread of flames.
