Lindner open to the traffic lights coalition

FDP party leader Christian Lindner is open to a continuation of the traffic light coalition in Rhineland-Palatinate and a new coalition of the Greens, FDP and SPD in Baden-Württemberg. In both cases, however, you want the stoplight to depend on political content.

“With the FDP there will certainly be no left turn, with the FDP there will be lower taxes rather than higher taxes, there will be no ban on diesel engines or single-family homes, as some Greens are calling for,” Lindner said. “If the content is wrong, we even take the liberty of saying no.”

He described his party’s results in the state elections as a good start to the election year. “In Baden-Württemberg we seem to have achieved one of the best electoral results in decades,” Lindner said.

In Rhineland-Palatinate, the FDP had been confirmed as the responsibility of the government. For the first time in the history of the Liberals, a coalition of traffic lights had been confirmed. The FDP had gained political weight at the beginning of the election year.
