After a bus accident on the A24, the motorway in the direction of Hamburg had to be closed.

In the morning, a long-distance bus with 32 passengers crashed on the Autobahn 24. According to information from the police, the bus from the Wöbbelin motorway exit (Ludwigslust-Parchim district) in the direction of Hamburg went off the road and flipped over.

Rescue workers with large numbers in action

Rescue workers from six volunteer fire brigades in the region are on the scene. The chief emergency physician told NDR 1 Radio MV that most of the passengers were unharmed and that four travelers had suffered moderate injuries.

No helicopters were needed

When the situation was a bit more confusing, three rescue helicopters headed to the crash site. Meanwhile, they could turn around and fly back to their bases. Now the injured are taken by ambulance to surrounding hospitals. It is not yet clear how exactly the accident occurred. The A24 is closed at the entrance to Wöbbelin in the direction of Hamburg.
