BVB’s next mistake!
Coach Edin Terzic’s team lost 4-2 to Borussia Mönchengladbach in the spectacular duel at the start of the second half of the Bundesliga season and again revealed significant defensive behavior problems. (The game to read on the ticker)
Dortmund escaped from the Champions League places after the defeat in the seventh season. With their first win against BVB since April 2015, after Corona’s whirlwind around Breel Embolo, the Gladbachers were in fourth place for at least one night.
Nicol Elvedi gave the Colts an early lead before Erling Haaland changed the game with a double for Dortmund. But Elvedi tied again before the break, and Ramy Bensebaini again took the lead for Marco Rose’s team shortly after the restart. Marcus Thuram decided the game in the last quarter of an hour.
It is already the third consecutive game without a win for Dortmund. The deficit against series champions FC Bayern could increase to 13 points after Matchday 18. (The Bundesliga table)
“We saw a good football match from both teams. We allow three standard goals against, then you lose,” summarized Mats Hummels after the match. DAZN.

Elvedi and Haaland with a double pack
The Gladbachers got off to a better start. In the opening minutes, the Dortmunders were barely out of their own half. And the Rose-Elf took the lead early, then the goal was counted on the second try.
First, Florian Neuhaus scored in the second minute, but after studying the video, referee Manuel Gräfe acknowledged the goal: Jonas Hofmann had caught the ball unfairly. Everything went well in the 11th minute. Nico Elvedi was left alone after a free-kick by Hofmann and headed an unbearable header for Roman Bürki. (Bundesliga schedule and results)
Then Dortmund woke up. And he spun the game through Erling Haaland. In the 22nd minute, Jadon Sancho hit a ball into the intersection where Haaland had started in his typical form. With a chip ball in the far corner, Gladbach’s Norwegian goalkeeper Yann Sommer left no chance.
So BVB took the lead and kept the pace high. Manuel Akanji missed goalkeeper Yann Sommer, Lars Stindl cleared Emre Can’s margin with a header on his own line (26.)

Foal wide awake after reboot
Six minutes later BVB showed a great combination on Marco Reus, Jude Bellingham and Sancho, who passed the ball back to Haaland. Once again, the 20-year-old stayed cold. It was already the 14th goal of the season for the Norwegian.
Coach Marco Rose, who is associated with BVB and who initially resigned from Embolo, switched from the bottom three to the usual four after falling behind. Denis Zakaria advanced to midfield. And four minutes later came Gladbach’s response, again after a free kick. Bürki made a mistake after a cross from Lars Stindl and defended the ball forward. Once again, it was Elvedi who seized the opportunity and pushed from close range.
The pace stayed high in the aftermath. Löw, who was in the stadium for the first time this season, was absolutely delighted. Both teams could have scored more goals during the first half. But Haaland, Sancho and Neuhaus sometimes missed the best opportunities.

After the restart, the colts were again more alert and punished for the third time the negligent defensive behavior of the Dortmunders. Ramy Bensebaini was attacked halfway from the left, the Algerian threw the ball into the far corner to make it 3-2. A few minutes later, Alassané Pléa missed a great opportunity to extend the lead. The Frenchman already passed the ball inches from the long post.
But Dortmund didn’t give up and pushed the colts to the bottom of their half. Unlike the foals, they were unsuccessful. The substitute kicked the game off in the 78th minute with a header from a corner: it was BVB’s third goal after a standard situation in this match.
