SC Freiburg had not beaten Borussia Dortmund since 2010. That changed on matchday 20 of the Bundesliga, with BVB suffering another bitter blow in the battle for the Champions League.
BVB had to admit defeat 1: 2 (0: 0) to national coach Joachim Löw on Saturday (6 February 2021) and conceded the first Bundesliga defeat to Baden after 19 unbeaten matches in this duel. SC Freiburg’s last victory over Dortmund was in May 2010, before current Freiburg manager Christian Streich took office.
