Brandenburg decides more than 100 emergency brakes: shops must close, schools remain open – BZ Berlin

Now Brandenburg is also applying the emergency brake! Tonight, the state government wants to decide who and what should close with an incidence of 100. BZ knows the plan.

The change to the Corona regulation only covers two pages, but they are difficult.

First, the government stipulates that all students must continue to attend school in alternate classes until Easter break (starting March 27), no matter how high the incidence increases by then!

Instead, districts and cities should pull on the emergency brake. Although six have already passed the 100 mark, “they have not yet initiated any measure under their own responsibility,” the State Chancellery darkly points out.

Therefore, the government wants to stipulate that “as soon as a district or city has exceeded the incidence of 100 for three days without interruption”, the following measures will take effect immediately:

► Retail will be completely closed again (except pickup options).

► Museums, memorials, galleries, exhibition halls, planetariums, archives and libraries will once again be closed to the public.

► A household can only meet one person outside the home.

► Individual sport at all outdoor sports facilities is again limited to a maximum of two people or people in their own home.

► Children’s group sports are again completely prohibited.

The government rejects a nationwide withdrawal of the March 8 easing, even if Brandenburg’s total incidence exceeds 100 (today, Thursday, is 91).

The reason: “The implementation at the state level in the Brandenburg area does not allow an adequate decision to the different infection situations.”

And: “The acceptance problems that already exist would also get worse.” In plain English: The Brandenburgers wouldn’t stick with them anyway …

At 6.45 pm, Prime Minister Dietmar Woidke (59, SPD) wants to announce the changes.
