In the future, there will be another crown limit value in Bavaria, which should result in additional restrictions: from an incidence value of 100 (number of new infections per 100,000 inhabitants in the last seven days), events with more than 50 people in one region. Prime Minister Markus Söder (CSU) announced this in a government statement, the debate of which can currently be followed live on BR24 (live stream on this article).

The announced tightening mainly affects cultural and club events, which were previously allowed with a hygiene concept for up to 200 participants indoors and outdoors for up to 400 participants, even with a higher incidence. Religious services, university events and demonstrations, on the other hand, should still be possible with more participants, according to Söder, even if the incidence value is greater than 100. Schools should also remain open if possible; In the restaurant sector, on the other hand, the curfew is brought forward at 9 pm from the value of 100.

Will it soon be a mandatory test for travelers?

“We take Corona seriously,” Söder emphasized. “Everyone has to participate.” The virus is still dangerous. Observing the increase in the number of infections, he said, “It can go away very, very fast.” The Prime Minister also noted that today’s figures are infections from ten days ago. At the same time, Söder tried to be optimistic: “We will challenge Corona again.” Söder announced a bonus of 500 euros for employees of the health service. There should also be new state aid for the self-employed, such as freelance artists, such as scholarships for young artists.

The Prime Minister also wants to introduce mandatory tests for commuters from foreign corona hotspots. Anyone who has been in a risk zone within 14 days prior to entry and moves to Germany for work, therefore, in the future, they will need to submit a negative corona test once a week. “Our goal is for borders to remain open,” Söder emphasized. But you have to guarantee more security.

Schulze: Söder should “do his own homework”

The leader of the parliamentary group of the Bavarian Greens, Katharina Schulze, accused the prime minister of using the Corona crisis for his own profile. It is bold to stand with your legs spread and give advice to other federal states, although there are also problems in Bavaria. Instead of pointing out others, Söder has to do his own homework.

“We all have to be team players at Corona,” emphasized Schulze. It is also contradictory if Söder calls for more rules at the national level one day and announces a new level at the crown light for Bavaria the next. According to Schulze, the Greens, on the other hand, are calling for national standards and “a common strategy.”

Schulze renewed his demand that important restrictions on public life finally be debated and decided in the state parliament. Government control belongs to the essence of democracy: “Now is the time for parliament.” Schulze called on the CSU and Free Voters parliamentary groups to stop “living in themselves.” They allowed the state government to pull them out of the ring by the nose ring and had blocked all proposals for greater transparency and control for months. Previously, Söder had promised a weekly ministerial question-and-answer session in the state parliament to discuss issues about the pandemic.

Strict contact restrictions from an incidence value of 50

So far, incidence values 35 and 50 have led to more severe restrictions in Bavaria. From the warning value 35 (yellow level), there is a stricter mask requirement in affected areas, stricter contact restrictions up to a maximum of ten people or two households, and a curfew in restaurants starting at 11 pm From the so-called limit value 50 (red level), even more stringent contact restrictions apply on the site; then five people or two households can meet. For gastronomy, the curfew will be applied from 10 pm

More and more regions of Bavaria are currently exceeding the 50 limit, in some cases significantly. According to the Robert Koch Institute, several regions of Bavaria were above the incidence value of 100 this morning, namely the city of Schweinfurt (112.3), the district of Schweinfurt (112.6), the city of Weiden (131.0), the city of Augsburg (112.6), the district of Fürstenfeldbruck (102.6), the district of Mühldorf am Inn (120.8 ) and the Rottal-Inn district (113.6). The highest incidence in the Free State currently has the Berchtesgadener Land district (262.4), where public life has been largely closed for two weeks since Tuesday.
