In Hannover-Seelhorst a World War II plane bomb has been discovered that is going to explode tonight. Residents have left the area around the site.

The helicopter is in the air and the evacuation of 6,300 residents ended around 9:30 p.m., according to a fire department spokesperson. The Südschnellweg is now closed and the train no longer uses the tracks in the restricted area. There are a total of 500 emergency services on site, including the ammunition disposal service.

Pick-up point in sports center

A collection point was set up in the sports hall of the Suthwiesenstrasse school. Below the phone number (0800) 731 31 31 a citizen telephone is activated. Return to the apartments is probably only possible at night; therefore, those affected are asked to bring medicine, special or baby food and suitable clothing, the city said.
