Pop singer Michael Wendler is causing a stir with his announced departure as a jury member for the RTL show “Deutschland sucht den Superstar”, mainly due to his reasoning. It is leaving with immediate effect, Wendler said Thursday night in an Instagram story. Wendler had just shown up on DSDS. The 48-year-old named the federal government and the media in the crown pandemic as the reason.

Wendler himself had only made headlines Thursday morning, due to a Kaufland commercial. In the clip, which was aimed at social media, the 48-year-old sings a repositioned version of his song “Egal” – “Regal.”
The supermarket chain reacted promptly to the pop singer’s statements at night. “Our video with Michael Wendler was about fun and irony. However, the limit was reached when people play with people’s safety and health,” said Kaufland’s Twitter account. “That is why we removed all content from Wendler and distanced ourselves from their statements.” Kaufland used the hashtag: “#nichtegal”.
Oliver Pocher, who lately likes to crawl for cocoa over and over “the Wendler” as his fans call him, showed a special edition of his RTL show “Pocher – dangerously honest!” That night. “If it weren’t so sad, you could almost laugh,” Pocher said.
