Trump no longer receives intelligence information

During his presidency, Donald Trump does not always treat intelligence reports with the necessary confidentiality. That is why Joe Biden assures that, unlike other former presidents, he will no longer be able to read it.

The new president of the United States, Joe Biden, does not want to give his predecessor Donald Trump access to confidential intelligence information as usual. Trump displayed “erratic behavior” and could divulge secret information, Biden said in an interview with the CBS television station. He doesn’t want to speculate on what might happen, but Trump simply doesn’t need the information anymore, Biden said.

The president emphasized that his assessment was independent of Trump’s role in the assault on the Capitol by his supporters in early January. “What does intelligence bring you, what influence does it have, besides that it could make a mistake and say something?” Biden asked. His interview with CBS will air before Sunday’s Super Bowl, arguably the biggest football game of the year.

Former US presidents generally continue to receive confidential reports from the secret services. Before Trump can understand this, Biden has to agree. Critics had accused Trump of having disclosed secret information several times as president. In addition, according to constant reports in the US media, he is said to have shown little interest in intelligence-laden briefings during his tenure. Informational meetings were recently noted only rarely on his public calendar, with Biden being almost every day.
