Due to the increasing number of infections, Lower Saxony does not plan to relax the next Corona regulation from October 9. New maximum limits apply to private parties and celebrations in restaurants.

Celebrations on its own four walls should be limited to a maximum of 25 participants in Lower Saxony to protect against the corona virus. This was announced by Prime Minister Stephan Weil on Thursday in Hannover. The regulation should be applied at the national level regardless of the development of the number of infections in the respective district, said the SPD politician. This does not apply to outdoor parties. If the number of infections per 100,000 inhabitants in a region increases to more than 50 in a week, only ten people should be allowed to meet at home.

The upper limit for celebrations in restaurants increases to 100

Until now, there are no restrictions for home meetings in Lower Saxony. However, recent weeks have shown that private celebrations without hygiene concepts are a risk of new sources of infection, Weil explained. The general upper limit for celebrations in restaurants, on the other hand, will be raised from 50 to 100 people, since the regulations could be better complied with there. Pre-planned relaxation, such as the reopening of discos and clubs, will not be implemented until further notice. The state government wants to present the full new Corona regulations in the next week, the previous regulation expires on October 8.

Incorrect information about the person is not a trivial crime

Weil already had one earlier in the week. A reassessment of the situation was announced. For example, a guest providing false information about himself in a restaurant would face a minimum fine of 50 euros. The owner could also be held liable. How high that fine could be in Lower Saxony remains to be discussed, Weil said. Of course, it is difficult to hold the innkeeper responsible. But it’s important to be clear that fake names on guest lists are not a trivial crime.

Additional Information

The filling of the hygiene sheet is now more strictly controlled.
