59 days after winning the premier class, FC Bayern won the first group stage game of the new season. Against Atlético de Madrid, who actually consider themselves strong defensively, the Munich team won 4-0 (2-0) in their own stadium. Kingsley Coman (28 ‘, 72’), Leon Goretzka (41 ‘) and Corentin Tolisso (66’) were the scorers.

Atlético’s supposed goal does not count

Shortly before the break, Bayern, where Serge Gnabry was missing after a positive corona test, scored a second goal. After a quick attack from Munich, Coman passed the ball to Leon Goretzka, who had plenty of time and increased it to 2-0 (41st).

After the break, the Atlético players cheered a goal from João Félix too early. The goal was not given – Suárez was offside and Neuer blocked his view (47th).

Tolisso then provided Munich’s third goal with a remarkable long-range shot (66 °). However, here Robert Lewandowksi was offside and, like Suárez, Atlético goalkeeper Jan Oblak was blocking the view. However, the referees obviously did not see this as an obstacle.

After a strong individual performance in which Madrid’s defensive line danced, Coman scored his second goal after that night (72), the decision.
