In the Bavarian city of Waldkraiburg, a 25-year-old man is in custody after an attack on companies of Turkish origin, with urgent suspicion of having been committed.
The man had been arrested at the Mühldorf am Inn train station on Friday night. Meanwhile, an arrest warrant was issued, a spokesperson for the Central Agency to Combat Extremism and Terrorism (ZET) in the Munich Attorney General’s Office told the DPA news agency.
Since April, one or more unknown persons in Waldkraiburg, in the Mühldorf am Inn district, have carried out four attacks against companies of Turkish origin. The stones flew into the windows of a cafeteria, a restaurant and a hairdressing salon. A Turkish greengrocer’s shop caught fire. Six people were injured in the worst attack on the night of April 27.
Travel without a ticket – with “explosives”
According to police, the suspect had not been in possession of a ticket and had “explosives” in his luggage. “While checking his luggage, materials were found that could be used to make explosives,” said a police spokesman.
The man was urgently suspected in connection with the Waldkraiburg investigation, police said on Twitter. He also announced a press conference for Sunday morning in Rosenheim.

Initially, the police did not provide further information on the man’s identity. “The investigation is currently going in all directions,” said the police spokesman. The investigators did not discard extremist antecedents of the facts.
After the man’s arrest, investigators from the State Criminal Police Office searched two houses in Waldkraiburg and Garching an der Alz. “There were indications of dangerous objects,” said the police spokesman. As a precaution, some residents had to temporarily abandon their homes.
