Police released photos of the missing
A father and his five-year-old son from Bauerbach (part of the Grabfeld municipality in Thuringia) disappeared for twelve days. Now for the sad certainty: a hiker found the bodies of the two and the blue Suzuki Jimny he was looking for in a wooded area near Unterharles. According to initial findings, his father killed the five-year-old boy.
Left on Saturday noon before Christmas
Father and son drove off in an unknown direction on December 19 and disappeared without a trace. The police had released the photos of the missing persons with the consent of the family. Officers from the Schmalkalden-Meiningen police station had verified all the family’s contacts, without success. The whereabouts of the father and son are unknown. Now, a hiker found the two dead bodies in a wooded area around noon on Sivester day; the location was, according to police, only a few kilometers from the man’s home on the border with Bavaria.
According to the first findings of the investigators, there is a violent crime. Police assume that the father first killed his five-year-old son and then took his own life after the crime. An autopsy should shed light on the darkness. The investigators did not provide information on the possible reasons for the event.
