In Bad Mergentheim, Baden-Württemberg, a child locked himself in the compartment of a parcel station and unleashed a rescue operation on Saturday.
Since the twelve-year-old could not get out of the box without help, he had to be released by firefighters, police said Monday.
The boy had previously watched an Internet video with a ten-year-old friend; it was a code that supposedly opened and closed parcel boxes. However, the practical test at a Bad Mergentheim station did not seem to work at all.

According to police, the two boys initially apparently managed to open a larger compartment. The twelve-year-old boy then had the idea to enter and close the door behind him.
However, the door could not be reopened afterwards. The ten-year-old boy outside finally asked for help. The fire department finally opened the compartment. The imprisoned boy had his way in horror.
