Attorney General on Election Fraud Charge: Barr Sees No Evidence for Trump’s Claim

Numerous lawsuits have been dismissed, but US President Trump maintains that his victory was “stolen.” Now even Justice Minister Barr is walking away from his boss: he has no evidence of extensive electoral fraud.

According to department head William Barr, the US Justice Department has so far found no evidence of the electoral fraud alleged by President Donald Trump on a large scale. “To date, we have not seen any fraud on the scale that could lead to a different electoral result,” Barr told the AP news agency.

The Justice Minister directly contradicted Trump. The Republican continues to claim that his Democratic challenger Joe Biden won the November 3 election due to massive fraud. Trump has not presented any reliable evidence.

The incumbent president tries to challenge the election result with a wave of lawsuits. However, the American courts have already thwarted numerous lawsuits. Biden will be sworn in as president on January 20.

Trump lawyers criticize justice minister

Trump’s lawyers rejected Barr’s version. Trump’s attorneys, Rudy Giuliani and Jenna Ellis, said there was “no trace” of an investigation by the Justice Department. “We have gathered extensive evidence of illegal voting in at least six states.”

The ministry did not review this evidence and testimony, he said. Barr appears to have made up his mind “without any knowledge or investigation of the substantial wrongdoing and evidence of systematic fraud.”

Barr told the AP that prosecutors and federal FBI investigators were investigating allegations related to the election. But they would not have found any evidence that would have changed the outcome.

Barr is considered a Trump ally

The attorney general’s comments come as a surprise: Barr is considered a Trump ally. In the past, he had turned his back on the president. Shortly after the AP interview was published, Barr was seen arriving at the White House.
