On Monday night, a group of surfers got into trouble on the Dutch coast. Four people died, another surfer is still missing.

METERAt least four people died on the Dutch coast while surfing. Two surfers were recovered dead from the North Sea on Tuesday morning, police in The Hague said. Two bodies had already been recovered on Monday night. Another surfer was still missing, as rescuers said. Wanted with boats and helicopters.

A group of surfers got into trouble on Monday night off the Scheveningen coast, near The Hague, with strong winds and strong currents. According to the coast guard, at least seven were unable to reach the beach on their own and were rescued from the North Sea by rescue workers. Aid came too late for two of them. A third person had been hospitalized.

The search for the disappeared stopped at around 11 p.m. Rescuers resumed the search at 6 a.m. on Tuesday morning.
