Star hairdresser Udo Walz has died. According to her husband Carsten Thamm-Walz, Walz died on Friday at the age of 76. “Udo fell asleep peacefully at twelve o’clock,” Thamm-Walz told the “Bild” newspaper. Two weeks ago Walz suffered a shock from diabetes, after which he fell into a coma.

Walz was one of the most famous hairdressers in Germany. More recently he owned five salons, three of which are in Berlin. Chancellor Angela Merkel was one of Walz’s clients, but she also combed numerous movie stars like Romy Schneider and Marlene Dietrich. He also appeared in various media and published books.
