“As if I had eaten wisdom with spoons”

World coach Jürgen Klopp has vehemently rejected Mehmet Scholl’s criticism of the “young” generation of coaches and Dortmund manager Edin Terzic. “What is your rationale for judging a coach? That would interest me,” Klopp said in Sport1“That would be like talking about car manufacturing. I have no idea about that either.

Scholl, who has not looked after a club since 2013, was recently annoyed by the expression of the new Dortmund manager: “There is not much in his words. It’s like saying the sun will set tomorrow. His analysis is not tangible.”

He also complained that the new vocabulary belonged to the language of the coach who “could no longer hear”. “In the past I should also talk about ‘box’ instead of a penalty area. Or a double six with a diametrical tip. I refused,” said Scholl (50).

From Klopp’s point of view, Scholl is not in a position to express such criticism. “He tried as a coach, and failed,” said the Liverpool FC coach: “Now he speaks as if he had eaten wisdom with a spoon.”

Klopp was also bothered by the fact that Scholl was talking about people he “doesn’t know. I’ve seen some coaches who he was apparently referring to.”

He talks about the fact that he can’t hear all this anymore, “the 53-year-old said, adding, referring to Terzic:” This was the first time one of the coaches spoke. How is it possible that you no longer want to hear something from someone speaking for the first time? “
