Apple’s most current manager with a German background can expect to expand his portfolio: Oliver Schusser will also head Beats in the future. The United States media report quoted an internal letter from Eddy Cue, the powerful head of Apple’s services business, who is officially titled as Senior Vice President of Software and Internet Services.
Heartbeats at Apple since 2014
Schusser has had a steep career. He initially led the international business of the popular Apple iTunes music and video platform from London for several years before becoming head of the Apple Music streaming service in the spring of 2018, while remaining responsible for the international content business. He reports directly to Cue. Schusser, who was born in Bavaria, went to California, where he would travel between Culver City, the headquarters of Apple Music, and Apple Park in Cupertino.
In addition to Apple Music, he is now also responsible for audio producer Beats, as the IT specialist. CNET Schusser writes replaces Luke Wood, who has worked at Beats since 2011 and continued to run his hardware business even after Apple took over the headphone maker in 2014.
Long time manager is leaving
But Wood is leaving Beats later this month. Interesting on the staff: Apple Music originally comes from Beats, its own Beats Music streaming service was rebuilt after the Apple acquisition and was used as a base. Now an Apple Music Manager takes over the Beats business. Apple had constantly grown under Schusser’s leadership, music was his passion and he loved the Beats brand. Staff delivery during the Covid 19 pandemic “was not ideal,” but it was about Beats “driving the business.”
Recently there was speculation about one Possible end of the Beats brand itself, but this is always denied by Apple. Cue also confirmed in the staff announcement that Apple was behind Beats. Apple recently expanded its business with its own headphones, and there is soon to be a high-end headset.
