Anyone criticizing Andrew Cuomo has to dress warmly. The governor of New York aggressively fires at anyone who doubts, corrects, or simply questions him, especially since he became America’s crown hero.
Even party friends aren’t immune to the Democrat’s infamous outbursts of anger. State Member Ron Kim is feeling this too, who harshly attacked Cuomo for his coronation policy: The governor yelled at him over the phone and threatened to “destroy” his career, Kim reported. “It was a very traumatic experience.”
Cuomo denied it, but immediately did the same: Kim, a native of South Korea, was a criminal who led an old vendetta against him. Cuomo “he can slander me as much as he wants,” Kim replied coldly; that doesn’t change their “deadly incompetent management.”
The internal dispute of the party has a fatal background. A year after New York became the global focus of the pandemic and Cuomo the telegenic savior, its star is fading. A scandal over nursing home deaths is now fueling a riot within its own ranks, along with confusing crown rules, massive vaccination problems and its crude management style. Both Republicans and Democrats want to kick him out, the FBI is investigating, and Cuomo’s stubbornness only makes things worse.
