“That doesn’t work at all,” said the leader of the Berlin FDP parliamentary group, Sebastian Czaja (37). “How could it be that regulatory authorities overlooked something like this? The stricter rules, which primarily affect those who adhere to the rules, are prohibited as long as these overcast events can take place undisturbed.”

Czaja criticized the outdoor party on Twitter, which apparently took place on the weekend of the unit. Hundreds of people can be seen in the recordings. The organizer is likely to face a hefty fine.

The party capital of Germany has already received the receipt. According to the criteria of the Robert Koch Institute, all of Berlin is a risk zone as of Thursday. On Thursday, the number of new infections reported per 100,000 residents rose to 52.8 in the past seven days, and thus above the important threshold of 50.

I am very concerned about this development, ”said Berlin Mayor Michael Müller (55, SPD). “It cannot be ruled out that we have to agree on further steps in this context.”

The result is initially travel restrictions for Berliners in other federal states. “In fact, we wanted to go to my sister’s house on the Baltic Sea during the autumn holidays. But we have put it on hold for now, ”said Liesa Krill (34), Weissensee’s secretary, about the BZ

The “curfew” will take effect for the first time on Friday at midnight. Gastronomy, Spätis, supermarkets must be closed from 11 pm to 6 am, alcohol cannot be sold at service stations during this time. According to the poll, two thirds of Germans (66 percent) support this “punitive action” against Berlin. The new crown restriction applies at least until the end of the month.
