Update, 6 am: Evacuation begins
In these minutes the evacuation begins in the Heckert area. The city is installing emergency rooms at the exhibition center, Richard-Hartmann-Halle, gymnasium at Schlossteich, sports forum, Gymnasium Einsiedel and Hartmannschule for affected residents who do not have the opportunity to stay with friends or family. Pets are not allowed there.
CVAG offers a shuttle service to the emergency rooms from 6 am to 8 am – stops in Paul-Bertz-, Wilhelm-Firl- and Ludwig-Kühn-Straße.
Update, 5.56am .: It was quiet at the pump at night
The police in front of the pit report that all was silent during the night. Few photographers. There is no 200 meter blocking circle, only the 1000 meter radius.
Update, 5.52am.: Residents expect a quick deactivation
Residents of the Heckert area hope deactivation will not take too long: Andrea Müller (60) on Burkhardsdorfer Straße. “Hopefully it won’t be long. They’ve been digging for a while. I’m keeping my daughter.” He thinks he can go home tonight.

Police have been at the scene since the find Wednesday and are monitoring the cordoned off area around the bomb.
