Advisor Hicks has Crown: Trump is in quarantine

Several dates are on Donald Trump’s agenda for Friday. However, it is not clear if the president of the United States can perceive it: after a consultant tests positive for the corona virus, he takes a test himself. He wants to isolate himself until the result.

US President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania underwent a corona test after a close adviser tested positive for the virus. “The First Lady and I are awaiting the results of our tests. In the meantime, we will begin our quarantine process,” Trump wrote on Twitter. He had previously confirmed media reports in an interview with Fox News that his confidant Hope Hicks tested positive. “It tested positive,” Trump said. Now he wrote on Twitter: “Terrible!”

The White House had recently released Trump’s calendar for Friday, which included various appointments. The 74-year-old man left open whether he would continue to isolate himself due to the incubation period if the first test result was negative.

There have been corona infections in the vicinity of Trump. However, Hicks is the closest person to the president who is known to be infected. The 31-year-old had accompanied Trump on Tuesday on a trip to Cleveland, Ohio, where he and his election rival Joe Biden led the first of three planned television debates. He flew with Trump on the presidential Air Force One plane. Hicks was also in the helicopter with Trump when he flew back to Washington from a campaign appearance in Minnesota on Wednesday.

White House employees have known since Wednesday night that Hicks was infected, the New York Times reports. He was not doing well in Minnesota and was quarantined on Air Force One on the return flight, writes Bloomberg.

“She is young”

Trump suggested that Hicks could have been infected by members of the military or police. “They come to you and they want to hug you and kiss you because we did a very good job for them, you get close and things happen,” Trump said. “I was surprised to hear about Hope, but he’s a very loving person to you and he knows there is a risk, but he’s young.” You can’t just say, “Stay away, stay away,” Trump said.

In Wednesday’s photos, Hicks was seen at Joint Base Andrews military airfield outside the Marine One presidential helicopter, in close proximity to Trump’s adviser and son-in-law Jared Kushner. Neither of them wore mouth and nose protection. A White House spokesman, Judd Deere, said when asked, “The President takes the health and safety of himself and all who work for him and the American people very seriously.”

Hicks has been close to Trump for years, at times serving as communications director at the White House. After a temporary resignation from the government team, she returned to the White House as an adviser this year.
