Kaiserslautern / Halle (Saale) –
Just two wins in 14 games in 2021, just eleven own goals and recently four losses in a row – Halleschen FC’s free fall in the 3rd division is accelerating more and more. Except for three points, the lead at the poles has melted. Eight days before the end of the season, the time has come to pull the string.
Because more than all the statistics on points and goals is sober performance: the team has been showing terribly weak offensive performance for weeks, if not months. Soccer has been bad for a long time and now it is also a chronic failure. Coach Florian Schnorrenberg simply cannot find any solutions to the well-known play problems.
Yes, the staff cover is thin due to injuries. And yes, the big players are weak. Of course, it is always a bit unfair to burden individual people with a pittance. Crises are always more complex.
HFC team urgently needs new impulses
But in the end, the responsibility for setting up the team rests with the coach. And the HFC manager has been running out of arguments for weeks: The outnumbered 1: 3 in relegation candidate 1. FC Kaiserslautern acts as the final revelation oath for the hapless coach.
Because almost nothing about the HFC kicker currently offers hope for improvement. But that must be done very quickly, because unlike Halle, the competition has been scoring solidly in the relegation battle for weeks. On Friday there is another “relegation final” in the home game against KFC Uerdingen. New impulses are urgently needed.
The club management around President Jens Rauschenbach is advised to deal intensively with the coach issue. With all the merits Schnorrenberg undoubtedly earned by remaining in the league last year: the future of the HFC is hugely in jeopardy. Whether coach Schorrenberg can stop the free fall now seems more than questionable given the team’s condition. (mz)
