Energy transition costs: this calculation shows the price of green electricity

reThe federal government has set a goal of achieving greenhouse gas neutrality by 2050. Since Germany wants to forego the use of nuclear energy, this essentially means that the nation must obtain almost all its energy from renewable sources. Such a goal is technically feasible, as many proponents like to point out. But just because something is technically feasible, of course, doesn’t mean it’s inexpensive too. For example, it would be technically feasible to offer the 83 million people of Germany a trip to the International Space Station. But ruinously expensive. Feasibility means little regardless of cost. Green activists and politicians incessantly claim that renewable energy is cheaper than any other energy source and is taking the world by storm. Naturally, this raises the question of why we continue to create mandatory regulation and have to spend hundreds of billions on subsidies to make this possible. Because if you know the right studies, you will quickly come to a completely different conclusion.
