Weather outlook in Germany: thick cloud cover, snow and black ice

The German Weather Service (DWD) expects it to snow in a swath from Baden-Württemberg through Hesse and Thuringia to Saxony and Brandenburg over the course of Sunday. The minimums are between zero degrees and minus five degrees. The day begins under a thick layer of clouds. Snow should fall in some areas, more rain or sleet in the north. In the south it is mostly dry. If the sun appears, only in the highest mountains. Temperatures at the beginning of the week range from minus one to four degrees.

Tuesday night is usually dry, only in the northern half of the island there is occasional rain or snowfall. The lowest temperatures are between zero degrees and minus five degrees. According to the DWD, the day will be changeable and wet and cold with temperatures between zero and four degrees.

At lower altitudes it rains occasionally, above 400 meters snow falls. Gaps in the cloud can rarely be seen. It should stay that way for now: “The sun is not a big problem in the next few days,” a weather service spokesman said. At least until the middle of the week it remains under thick clouds in humid and cold climates.
