What was happening behind the scenes? ZDF’s New Year’s Eve show “Willkommen 2021” had more than three million viewers. A small party noticed a small detail: a sign that said “Maskenfrei” in the backstage area.
A Twitter user posted a photo of her. He wrote: “The mask is NOT necessary at the ZDF New Years Eve party!”
Another user had also noticed a note with “Maskenfrei” and noticed it on Twitter.
Really?
When asked by the BZ, ZDF spokesperson Pepe Bernhard explains: “There were separate areas at the production site where those involved had the opportunity to temporarily remove or change their masks.” This is part of the officially approved Corona concept.
The spokesperson continued: “Outside of these areas there was a permanent mask requirement.”
