Politicians call for closure in Germany to be extended

Will you leave the confinement on January 10 or will everything continue to be fine? Several top politicians suggest in an interview with RTL that the shutdown will stick! The reason: 1000 kills per crown every day! Berlin’s ruling mayor Michael Müller (SPD) said Wednesday night exclusively on RTL: “I assume with such high numbers we will expand it!” Watch the full interview on the video!

The head of the chancellery, Helge Braun, also suggests a longer lockdown: the decision should be made in early January

But Müller gives a bit of hope: “Maybe you have to react to regional differences. Maybe in some federal states it will be more relaxed.” But nothing has been resolved yet! Chancellor Merkel and the prime ministers will probably decide on January 5 whether Germany will remain closed, including kindergartens and schools!

Laschet: “We will have to hold out longer”

North Rhine-Westphalia Prime Minister Armin Laschet (CDU) also said on Wednesday that he expected the shutdown to be extended. “I think the expectation that everything will end next week with the shutdown should drive people away. We will have to hold out longer,” Laschet said. “The death rate has reached an absolute maximum today. From this point of view, I think it is frankly impossible that in a few days we will have figures that allow anything other than an extension of the blockade,” said the CDU politician. “My expectation: the blockade will continue. Hospitals are at the limit of their capacity.”
