The vaccination center at Treptow’s “Arena”, which only opened on Sunday, will be closed from December 31 to January 3. The farm will not be vaccinated again until next Monday. According to Regina Kneiding, press spokesperson for the “Vaccination Center Projects Office”, the reason is the small number of people who want to be vaccinated during this time.

“We have to thaw the doses of the vaccine and know exactly how many people will come,” Kneiding said. The first vaccinations are reserved for the nursing staff, as of January 4, people over 80 years of age will be vaccinated. However, it is not yet clear how many elderly are registered, as invitations for vaccination have not yet been sent.

The vaccination center operator, the DLRG and the Arbeiter-Samariter-Bund, assume the numbers will be available on Monday. Also, there are currently only a limited number of doses of the vaccine, Kneiding said.

The opening of the Corona vaccination center at Tegel airport scheduled for Tuesday has been canceled according to information from Tagesspiegel. As Reinickendorfer physician Patrick Larscheid explained, there are not enough vaccines. The center is not expected to open until mid-January.
