Söder in quarantine – CSU minister tested positive

Söder wished Herrmann a smooth course and a speedy recovery. The Minister of State also announced on Twitter at noon that he had tested positive for the virus. “Under the circumstances, I’m fine,” he wrote.
Söder’s quarantine has direct consequences for Tuesday’s cabinet meeting. The Council of Ministers will continue to deal with the Corona situation (the meeting was only planned as a video conference anyway), but the press conference that was planned with Söder was canceled.
First quarantine crown for Söder
Söder is in quarantine for the first time since the pandemic began. In his daily life he paid close attention to complying with hygiene regulations, such as distance requirements and mask requirements, and frequently used disinfectants.
Other prime ministers and federal politicians, such as Chancellor Angela Merkel, were already temporarily in quarantine after contact with those who tested positive. Among other things, Brandenburg Prime Minister Dietmar Woidke tested positive for the corona virus.
According to information from the State Chancellery, Söder was subjected to the last Corona test on Monday morning, the result was negative, a spokeswoman said. But then Söder had a meeting with Herrmann. The Söder government spokesman also went into quarantine.
