In Essen, a doctor and his employees threw an exuberant Christmas party. When the police interrupted the celebration, it was met with fierce opposition.

On Friday evening, a local resident called Essen’s southern district police for a disturbance of public order. He noticed loud music and party noise, as well as guests singing and dancing. The party turned out to be a Christmas party at the doctor’s office. Police announced Sunday.

When officers arrived, they found a 35-year-old man and four women in the office. The people did not wear mouth and nose protection and belonged to five different households. The doctor explained that today was the last day of work and that he wanted to reward his employees with a small celebration after a difficult year. The drunk man seemed very upset and yelled at the officers, the message says.

Little policewoman

The current Crown Protection Ordinance, which went into effect on December 16, generally prohibits celebrations and parties. Therefore, the officials ended the celebration and wanted to file a complaint for an administrative violation. For this they wanted to know the personal data of those present. This provoked resistance from the 35-year-old woman and a 26-year-old woman. Both questioned the legality of the police action and yelled at the officers.

The woman began filming the mission with her smartphone. Neither the police nor the other three guests, who were very cautious, reassured them. When police searched them for their IDs, the 35-year-old and the 26-year-old resisted and the woman bit an officer on the finger.

To clarify the matter, both were taken to the guard, where a blood sample was taken. The investigation continues.
