Carl Gustaf said he felt especially sorry for the families who had not been able to say goodbye to their deceased relatives. “I think it is a difficult and traumatic experience not to be able to say goodbye,” said the 74-year-old.

When asked if he was afraid of getting infected with Covid-19 itself, he said: “Lately it feels more concrete, it has gotten closer and closer.” In November, his son, Prince Carl Philip, and whose wife Sofia tested positive for Covid-19.
