The gang’s drug arrived in containers from South America, in March 2020, for example, amid 1,080 boxes of bananas. After the arrival of the “merchandise”, one of the assailants collected the coca and took it to a warehouse in Dollern (Stade district), where it was later located by the police.

Police spokesman Holger Vehren: “Officers found that the cavities under the floor of the container had bent. Based on the current status of the investigation, 381 kilograms of cocaine may have been smuggled into Germany.

At the end of June 2020, drug traffickers wanted to receive 1.2 tons of cocaine in a container of rice from the Dominican Republic. But it didn’t turn out: the drugs were confiscated!

The last delivery in July 2020 (380 kilograms) was hidden in an empty double-bottomed container.

Vehren: “The suspects also made use of the special knowledge of a person involved in the crime who was familiar with the logistical processes involved in handling containers in the Port of Hamburg.”

▶ According to information from the BILD, one of the suspects, Ashraf M. (39) from Neugraben, is said to have diverted the coke in the containers so that it could be unloaded at warehouses.

It is one of the most extensive investigations the Hamburg police have ever seen. So much drug that some of it was temporarily stored in the large conference room of the police headquarters.

Investigators from the Department of Organized Crime found the crucial trail of the cocaine ring in April 2020.

Several criminals shot each other near the Fischbeker Heide forest area, a 28-year-old was shot in the thigh and another in the hand. According to information from BILD, the gang fought each other over their drug dealings.

Bad luck for criminals – it was only after undercover investigations into those involved in the shooting that investigators realized the extent of the drug ring and structures!
