In Schleswig-Holstein, wreath measures must be hardened before Christmas. Prime Minister Günther made it clear in the afternoon. He did not give details.
Schleswig-Holstein Prime Minister Daniel Günther (CDU) has spoken out in favor of a tough lockdown on the Corona crisis before Christmas. In view of the high number of infections, he also wants to campaign in the upcoming Prime Minister’s Conference, Günther said Thursday after a special meeting of Jamaica’s cabinet. Assume this conference will take place on Sunday. The coalition in Kiel is fighting for a common path for all federal states.
Tomorrow’s statement in the state parliament
What measures need to be hardened and when? Prime Minister Günther had no comment in the afternoon. Tomorrow in the state parliament he wants to tell, among other things, how things could go in the schools of Schleswig-Holstein. Günther said that the care of both schools and nurseries must be guaranteed. Finance Minister Heinold (Greens) and Social Affairs Minister Garg (FDP) also spoke in favor of a strict blockade without being specific. All three agreed on the importance of the measures at the national level.
SPD support
Opposition leader Ralf Stegner (SPD) is also behind the announced course. He also made six demands on the government. In schools there should be the possibility of suspending compulsory attendance. However, families must be supported with childcare. Other demands are the massive expansion of testing and protective materials for homes, practical and emergency financial assistance from the federal government, broad transparency of rulings, and a limitation of measures until January 9.
297 new infections reported
In Schleswig-Holstein, 297 new cases of corona were recently reported in one day. The country has been a corona risk area since Sunday because the value of new infections per 100,000 residents had risen to more than 50 in the past seven days. Currently the value is just under 58.5 (data state on December 9). In Germany as a whole, the number of new corona infections reached a peak in one day on Thursday morning: Health authorities reported 23,679 new infections to the Robert Koch Institute.
