Taxi is crushed by tram – driver (49) can be released – BZ Berlin

On Wednesday night there was a violent collision between a taxi and a tram on Wuhletalstrasse. The taxi driver (49) was seriously injured.

At around 9:15 p.m., the violent accident occurred on Wuhletalstrasse in Marzahn:

According to initial statements and police investigations, the 49-year-old taxi driver from Schwarzburger Strasse turned left onto Wuhletalstrasse in the direction of Märkische Allee. There he collided with the M8 tram coming from the left.

The tram car was lifted off the track by the force of the impact: the taxi was trapped between the tram and the light pole and was crushed!

Fortunately, the fire department was able to rescue the driver alive from the car accident. Rescuers took the taxi driver to hospital with injuries to the trunk. The tram driver (45) and a passenger, a 32-year-old woman, suffered a scare.

The Wuhletalstraße was closed to vehicle traffic between Kemberger Straße and Märkischer Allee. Investigations into the course of the accident continue.
