Vaccines: Woopen demands better communication

Christiane Woopen, President of the European Council of Ethics and a specialist in medical ethics at the University of Cologne, asked for better information about corona vaccines in the morning’s NDR Info interview, for example about possible side effects. Communication with the population is a key point to avoid uncertainty. Vaccinations would take many months. It is also necessary to clarify how long the vaccination protection lasts, since exhaustive observations and investigations are necessary.

Federation of cities and municipalities doubt relief from the crown

The German Association of Cities and Municipalities doubts that contact restrictions will be relaxed during the holidays as planned. Braun advocates tighter fit before Christmas

While the Economy Minister Bernd Althusmann (CDU) has already spoken of a step-by-step plan to relax the crown’s measures, Stephan Weil (SPD) makes it clear: Lower Saxony is still a long way from this. “The time will certainly come when we can talk about easing,” Lower Saxony’s prime minister said Sunday night in NDR’s regional magazine Hallo Niedersachsen. Then, as in the spring in Lower Saxony, it will happen again in stages. “But we still have a lot of work to do before then.”

RKI reports 12,332 new infections nationwide

The number of new corona virus infections remains high, even as German health authorities reported comparatively few new corona infections to the Robert Koch Institute (RKI) earlier in the week. In one day, 12,332 new cases were presented. That’s more than 1,000 more cases than last Monday, when the number of new infections reported was 11,168. The previous peak was reached on November 20 with 23,648 cases. The number of cases registered is usually lower on Sundays and Mondays, in part because fewer tests are done on weekends.
