Donald Trump’s lawyer Rudy Giuliani infected with crown

Former New York City Mayor and current Trump confidant Rudy Giuliani tested positive for the corona virus. This was announced by his client, US President Trump, through Twitter.

The “best mayor in New York history” had tested positive for the “China virus,” the US president wrote, underscoring his view that the coronavirus was of Chinese origin. “Get well soon Rudy, we will continue,” Trump wrote. Initially there were no comments from Giuliani himself.

Giuliani, 76, is currently leading the president-elect’s legal battle against alleged electoral fraud, so far without success. Giuliani has been a loyal partner of Trump for years, but has already gotten the president into trouble several times.

Giuliani, for example, was a central figure in the Ukraine affair, which triggered an impeachment process against Trump. Giuliani had also actively sought to have Ukraine investigate Trump’s ultimately victorious challenger, Joe Biden.

Giuliani at the center of forgiveness considerations

Giuliani had recently made headlines because he was at the center of possible forgiveness considerations. Trump could still make extensive use of his right to clemency in his final weeks in office.

As the “New York Times” reports, citing two informed sources, there have recently been discussions between the president and his lawyers about such a move for Trump’s three oldest sons, Donald Junior, Eric and Ivanka, his son-in-law Jared Kushner and Giuliani.

Unlike the case of Mike Flynn, who had to answer in court for his crimes, the possible pardons for the Trumps, Kushners and Giuliani would be a preventive measure against possible future prosecutions. According to the New York Times, Trump recently expressed concern that his successor Joe Biden could take legal action against those individuals.

However, according to the report, it is unclear what possible crimes Eric and Ivanka Trump and Giuliani may have been guilty of. With Giuliani, his personal attorney, Trump is said to have spoken directly about a possible clemency. Giuliani is currently in front of the cameras again and again to spread new and unsustainable claims about the alleged manipulation in the November 3 elections.

In early October, US President Trump said that he himself contracted Covid-19. He spent a few days in the hospital and was discharged as recovered after intensive drug treatment.
