The state government will be asked to withdraw this state treaty. The goal should be to enter into negotiations with the commission to determine the financial needs of the issuers (KEF) and other responsible partners, Borgwardt said.
What should be achieved is “a recalculation, a discussion of the mandate, scope and structure of the future public service broadcasting.” This will be discussed with the coalition partners.
The CDU parliamentary group is following a proposal by Prime Minister Reiner Haseloff (CDU). According to information from MDR SACHSEN-ANHALT, Haseloff had raised the idea of postponing the vote in the state parliament on the amendment to the State Broadcasting Treaty. The media committee must decide on Wednesday. At the same time, there should be renegotiations on the State Treaty.
