reThe Bundeswehr is investigating suspected political and extremist misconduct by soldiers from the Panzer 9 Training Brigade. This is said to be a chat group of 16 NCOs and 10 ranks of teams, according to a briefing provided by the Ministry of Defense to officers in the Bundestag. They are said to have exchanged views on glorifying violence, pornography glorifying violence against women, anti-Semitism, and right-wing extremism. Immediately after the facts were known, the superiors began the necessary disciplinary investigations. Responsible military prosecutors and disciplinary offices participated, as well as the Military Counterintelligence Service (MAD). So far, three soldiers have been banned from wearing a uniform and performing their duties. According to the letter, many of the alleged soldiers belong to supply battalion 141 in Neustadt am Rübenberge in Lower Saxony.
According to a report from “Spiegel”, the first clues about the chat group came from a soldier from the training brigade. Then the MAD found more and more cell phones of soldiers who participated in the WhatsApp group. Images of Hitler were exchanged in the chat.
