“Peacefully asleep”
Despite the use of all the technological and intensive care measures, today he slept peacefully, without having regained consciousness beforehand. He is leaving behind a wife, daughter and granddaughter, ”says the family letter. “He was not only a popular comedian and entertainer, but most of all, an exceptionally lovable and personable person.”
Dall had taken on the role of old rock star Richie Sky on the ARD daily series “Rote Rosen” since early November. In Lüneburg, where the soap opera is being filmed, on November 11 he suffered a stroke with a brain hemorrhage.
Early starts in the 1960s
The comedian, who, like Otto Waalkes, came from Emden, celebrated success on stage and on television. It didn’t seem like a race like this for a long time. The parents wanted to make him an official; the teacher’s son saw himself as a photographer or cameraman.
After dropping out of school in the tenth grade, he initially became a typographer’s apprentice and kept afloat with odd jobs. Eventually he met the composer Ingo Insterburg, and in 1967 the humorous-anarchic group “Insterburg & Co” was born, and thus also for Dalls’ career as a comedian.

Actor, singer and king of jokes
Before “Insterburg & Co” broke up in the late 1970s, Dall had made connections with television. He brought the “music store” to the screen, helped on Rudi Carrell’s “Batido” and played on “Do you understand the fun?” Phone jokes.
Dall tried a lot in his career, he liked to provoke and polarize. With hits like “This album is a success” and “Millions of women love me” it was placed in the charts. As an actor, he has appeared in front of the camera in numerous productions, including many comedies.
Own formats in private television
His career began especially in the mid-1980s when he joined the newly founded private broadcaster RTL. From 1985 to 1991 he had his own format with “Dall-As”. In 1992 it went to Sat. 1 and “Jux und Dallerei”, which could be seen until 1994. In 1995, Dall returned to RTL, moderated, for example, “Karls Kneipe” and participated in the Rudi Carrell program “7 Days – 7 Heads”. Later, he was rarely seen on screen.
“I no longer believe in a new television career, but I would like to show again what I can do,” he said shortly before his 76th birthday. “It’s just that, aside from Dieter Hallervorden, who enviably managed to get out of the stupid corner, hardly any of us old comedians have this chance.”
Meanwhile, Dall had also said goodbye to the tour leg, where he was previously with the “Old Man Wants More” show. In the end he defended them ARD-Series “Rote Rosen” in front of the camera again.
