A test run of the new corona vaccination center was carried out in the Ulm showrooms on Saturday. Prime Minister Kretschmann is hopeful that the pandemic will end.

Baden-Württemberg Prime Minister Winfried Kretschmann (Greens) as well as Social Affairs Minister Manfred Lucha (Greens) and Interior Minister Thomas Strobl (CDU) saw the planned construction of the Corona vaccination center on Saturday . The Ministry of Social Affairs commissioned the DRK Ulm district association and the DRK Heidenheim-Ulm rescue service with the trial operation. In Ulm it has now been tested whether the process works as planned and where it may need to be improved. Around 100 people tested at the fairgrounds.

The Ulm vaccination center is set up in modules so that the process runs as smoothly as possible. After an admission verification and registration, follow the general information about vaccination, explained the doctor of the district association Bernd Kühlmuß of the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Subsequently, a doctor will inform each person who wants to be vaccinated; only then will the vaccine be administered. Then you have to stay for a 30 minute observation. This is a precautionary measure and is due to the new vaccine.

Lucha announces additional locations for vaccination centers

In Ulm, it should be possible to vaccinate up to 120 people per hour in real operation, as DRK doctor Kühlmuss said. In addition to Ulm, the fairs in the cities of Freiburg and Offenburg (Ortenaukreis) have already been established as other venues for vaccination centers, as the Minister for Social Affairs Lucha told the “Heilbronner Voice” and the “Mannheimer Morgen” (Saturday). The green politician announced in Ulm that five million doses of the Biontech / Pfizer candidate vaccine should be available nationwide in a first installment, 600,000 of them in Baden-Württemberg.

Risk groups have priority with vaccines

According to the plan of the Ministry of Health, risk groups and health workers should be vaccinated first, as well as policemen, firefighters, teachers and educators. The country’s vaccination centers are supposed to supply up to 1,500 people a day. In Ulm alone, more than 126,000 people could be vaccinated in three months.

The state wants to establish two central vaccination centers in each of the four administrative districts of Freiburg, Stuttgart, Karlsruhe and Tübingen by December 15. In the second step, before January 15, one to two district vaccination centers per city and district will be established. In the district vaccination centers, the Ministry of Social Affairs plans to have at least 750 additional vaccines per day. Vaccination should be possible seven days a week from 7 am to 9 pm
