SedanVirologist Christian Drosten has canceled his planned participation in a meeting of the Union parliamentary group in the Bundestag.

According to information from the daily Bild, on Tuesday there was strong resistance to the invitation of the parliamentarians. Consequently, the date was canceled “by mutual agreement”.

Drosten, for his part, wrote on Twitter that he himself canceled because the newspaper misrepresented the subject of his appearance in front of the parliamentary group and thus provoked hateful messages against him.

On Wednesday, the Bundestag and the Bundesrat will vote on controversial changes to the Infection Protection Act. This is the legal basis for the crown measures. Various demonstrations are also planned.
