After much back and forth over the number of participants, a few hundred protesters protested the anti-crown measures in Schwerin, including people from other federal states.
In Schwerin, around 450 people from different federal states demonstrated against the crown restrictions on Tuesday night. The police secured the demonstration with about 130 officers. According to the police, the event was peaceful.
Giant demonstrations prohibited, small protests allowed
During the protests at Bertha-Klingenberg-Platz, banners were seen with words such as “Stop the terror of the test” and “No one will forbid us to breathe freely.” According to the police, the distances were barely observed and the protesters did not wear masks. The city of Schwerin had approved two smaller demonstrations against the crown restrictions for Tuesday evening after banning a protest action with up to 100,000 registered participants by administrative order. A physician from Schwerin and a “lateral thinker” from Waren recorded the approved demonstrations. The group is mobilizing across the country against what it sees as inappropriate crown protection measures.

Entry of demonstration participants on occupied courts
Among the protesters were five people from the group of “lateral thinkers” who had sparked a major police operation in the Neustrelitz area on Tuesday. According to the decision of the Greifswald Administrative Court, the group first had to leave the country because their entry violated the applicable Corona measures. The entry ban kept the police, courts and assembly authorities busy around the clock. In the evening, the Schwerin Administrative Court finally decided that the group could be in the country and participate in the Schwerin demonstration.
On Monday, a total of around 1,200 people took to the streets of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania to demonstrate against measures to contain the corona pandemic.
