A man in Bavaria took his wife hostage and apparently stabbed her. The kidnapper did not survive either.
A man took his wife hostage in Tegernsee in Upper Bavaria and killed her. According to a police spokesman on Tuesday, officials wanted to rescue the woman during an emergency access; the man was so seriously injured by the “use of firearms by the police” that he died. According to the spokesman, the man had previously attacked the officers with a knife.
Initially, the “Bild” reported on the incident in the district of Miesbach. According to the newspaper, the man is said to have stabbed the woman in their shared apartment. According to the spokesman, the police had argued at the house that night. Why the man took his wife hostage and why the situation later escalated was not clear at first.
Tegernsee is a small town with around 3,660 inhabitants on the famous lake of the same name and is located about 50 kilometers south of Munich.
