Significantly more corona cases in Saxony-Anhalt

The number of infections per 100,000 inhabitants per week rose to 64.2 and is still above the highest alarm threshold of 50. A week ago, the value was 56.

Germany imposed strict crown rules in November to reduce the number of new infections below the highest alarm threshold.

Jerichower Land particularly affected

In Jerichower Land, the burden of 110.5 cases per 100,000 inhabitants per week is almost double the national average. The district is therefore the most affected region, ahead of Salzwedel (89.0) and Magdeburg (83.8).

With Stendal (47.7), Dessau-Roßlau (43.7) and Wittenberg (41.6), only three districts are below the critical value of 50 infections per 100,000 inhabitants.

Currently 34 patients in intensive care

According to statistics, at least 661 people with Covid-19 are being treated in hospitals, 34 of them in intensive care. Since the pandemic began, 93 people have died related to Covid-19. (dpa)
